The desires of a soul can bring them to destruction or transformation. Changed forever or fighting for what remains is the question each must ask of themselves.
The wark is a story of transformation, if rather dark and somewhat tending towards bimboformation with a hint of succubi and incubi influence and, at one point, a character being transformed physically towards being a succubus. The story is more about the plots and plans against which the main character battles and the evil that is behind what is happening.
The erotica has some heat, but it’s a bit stereotypical in nature. Similarly the main evil character is very much so and honestly I had expected more of them. The tone and personality they have is just expected and that really was a shame.
As for succubi and incubi in the story, they are more mentioned than actually being characters in the story. There are hints of them, of what others can be transformed into. But overall they are not in the story so much as watching and there seemed to be a lot of places where they could have been a larger part than they were.
Three out of five pitchforks.
Overall this is far more a story of corruption than a story about succubi or incubi. In that respect it’s very well told and interesting and it works well. I do wish that there had been more of a presence of succubi and incubi here, they are sort of along for the ride and beyond that they are a mystery in many ways. A follow on story I think would work well, though I feel that the ultimate transformations, if towards succubi and incubi, would need to be explored and take the central plot.
