Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 5, 2023
The hunting grounds of a succubus are many and varied but Eliza has captured a rich source to feel upon. The temptations are many and there’s little any of the young women around her can refuse from her. But Nadia is a new temptation for Eliza, one she cannot resist or really wants to.
The work is a slow burn piece of erotica which mainly focuses on Eliza stalking Nadia, who is then seduced and controlled by Eliza before succumbing to her completely. There’s aspects of mind control, a bit of succubus abilities appearing as well which do add some heat to the story overall.
Eliza, the succubus of the work, is somehow a bit two dimensional. She’s focused on one thing alone and really doesn’t allow other thoughts to get in the way. It well could be her need that overcomes her, but at the same time her character is lacking depth. Her being a futa seems to be the main thing that the story focused on and that just felt like something was missing from the storytelling.
The erotica itself reads very sharp and adult movie like both in the dialogue and the narrative which again left something lacking. Given Eliza’s personality, it does make sense, she’s something of a coldly focused creature. She says the right words to seduce Nadia, but there’s no real passion in them. They feel at times like she’s repeating something she’s said many times before to get what she wants and then move onto the next conquest.
While Eliza is a succubus without question the story tended to be more about her being a futa overall which left a lot of character development untold. The ending is somewhat expected, and the last line of the work reinforced Eliza’s nature and what she thinks about the women she claims. It’s true to her character, it’s exactly who she is, but it’s disappointing.
Three and a half out of five pitchforks.
Overall this is a hot flash looking for heat and that seems to escape the story often. I’d have liked to know more about Eliza than what was told, I would have liked a better ending than what was said. It would never be passionate or loving, that’s just not who Eliza is.
