Plot Summary

A modern man with a boring everyday life learns of his impending demise from his doctor. That small stirring in his chest turns out to be a huge problem after all. It has been decreed by the forces that be, that he will die without fulfilling his dreams. He does as any reasonable person would do in a situation like this, quit his job, acquire loans, and spend it all on booze and drugs. With no more worry in life, his deepest cravings which used to be bound up because of societal obligations, all come out to play. And play they did, such that what killed him at the end of the day wasn't his heart condition but too much alcohol, drugs, and an epic orgasm. Well, maybe the heart condition had something to do with but it doesn't matter anymore. All that matters is that he is dead now and on his terms.

But that isn't the end for Ben Dover. He was reincarnated as an incubus. His new life as a demon of pleasure isn't that different from his old life. There are demon capitalists and office jobs here too. He has been forced to work for a sex company to make a living. He didn't have a choice in the matter because, unlike in his old world, the hierarchy in the society of demons is determined by strength. So either he works for them or stops living. Follow Ben Dover as he makes his way up the corporate ladder by using his modern knowledge of sex to his advantage. His adventures will lead him to acquire the strength of his own, a company of his own, and will be full of the naughty things he had to do to make it happen.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 23, 2022

Ben has a problem, and it’s really the bottom of the pyramid of issues that being turned into an incubus brings. He should be more careful, he shouldn’t fall for the first succubus that crosses his path. But what’s done is done and now he’s in a new kind of hell.

The work is a very short tease of a chapter which jumps directly into the main character’s situation, throws him into a mess of his own doing and then follows that with a smattering of erotica before coming to a close. The erotica itself really doesn’t have a lot of heat in it, but there are hints of mind control which are interesting.

There’s a fair bit of humour which bemused me. There’s a fair start at world building that has some promise. The two main characters in the story aren’t really fleshed out, the story rushes towards the climax too quickly to allow that.

Ben, the main character and incubus, offers a lot of self-depreciating humour. His thoughts, when he’s not focused on sex alone, are humorous and it could be really interesting to watch him grow as a character.

Sharrot, the succubus of the work is a mixture of cute, evil and temptation that overall works well. There’s a feeling that her character is more fleshed out in the story even if she doesn’t really tell a lot about herself. It’s more she’s more fully explored, especially by Ben, which makes her interesting.

Still, it’s a pamphlet of course being so short. There is some interesting background being created however. There’s also a feeling that things are going to have a comedy tilt which could be interesting as well.

Three out of five pitchforks.

The author has set themselves a challenge of writing a chapter a week, which is very bold and I hope that works for them. We shall see.
