Plot Summary

There are points in time when one is brought to consider their beliefs. Sometimes that’s a matter of reflection, other times it takes other means. For Tom, the appearance of Firella brings the consideration that there might be other things to consider about hie beliefs and what he knows.
The work is something between a theological discussion and a work of erotica, the two cross over and around each other quite often. At the same time, the Christmas Carol aspects of telling some of the story work really well and were both delightful and very telling about the characters.
While there are erotic moments in the work, and they have their heat, it’s the discussions about religion and what Firella reveals as to being the truth that captivated me. There’s a particular aspect of those revelations that appeal and how they are expressed is done really well.
Firella, the succubus of the story, is not at all stereotypical. She smart, thoughtful and has a certain air about her that’s really quite attractive. While she does have some sexual plans for Tom, she’s more interested in making him see other possibilities and what they offer. Also, the mention of someone she works for being rather good at baking just made me love her even more.
Setting aside how much Firella delighted me and the path the characters took in the story, it’s the theological aspects of this work that were both captivating and something which I mused over. While this is very much a work of erotica, the mythos considered, the truths from Firella’s perspective, and how the work connected things together were really well done.
Four and a half out of five pitchforks.
If there is one thing I would have liked to be explored more was the ending. It’s a bit to abrupt considering all that comes before. Perhaps some time spent in telling what happened next for Tom, perhaps Firella musing from afar would have been nice. A unique story that I found delightful in many ways.
