Plot Summary

Mandy goes out for a night with her friends, but winds up in an interview room with an HSA representative. One odd conversation later, she's transported to a new world where demons wait for her, each of them gazing at her with covetous intent.

The HSA program is tasked with identifying and isolating events and artifacts associated with the Human Sexual Anomalies. First chartered as a classified organization in 1953, the HSA program has worked diligently for many years to preserve the sanctity of human life. This anthology tells the darker stories of what it takes to stop sexual madness from being seen by the world.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on July 26, 2024

It’s been a really odd night out for Mandy, and it seems to be getting weirder by the minute. She might have to question her reality, might have to wonder about the odd man she meets as well. But the icing on the cake are the three demons she finds herself mixed up with and who knows where that is going to go.

The work is a mixture of fantasy adventure and mystery with a bit of transformation aspects. It’s delightfully funny at points, mainly through the main character Mandy’s reactions to the whirlwind that bats her around on the adventure. That said, beyond the amusing dialogue and once the core of the story begins, the passions between Mandy and her revealed mate have lovely heat.

It’s not quite completely focused on the erotic aspects however, there’s a lot of world building, explanation about who, what and why things happen. The focus on Mandy being swept away by circumstance is just written with such a flair and style that I couldn’t help but smile throughout the story and what happens along the way.

Eventually Mandy is transformed, and that shift in her character and form is a delight. I see her as a kind of succubus, in a way, though that’s not quite the best way to describe her. Tail and horns offer a clue, as does her need for her mate once transformed. She’s still very much herself, but at the same time she’s so much more than she was before.

Of all the works in the HSA series, this is by far the singular one that I adore more than words can say. It’s a bit different than what might be expected, but that makes this work something special by far.

Four and a half out of five pitchforks.

I’d love to see a follow on work, if not with these characters than others in this demon universe as there really isn’t a lot revealed about it. The mythos build up just shouldn’t be cast aside honestly and I really hope that the author will return to it somehow.
