Book Review

I wonder sometimes if some authors use a specific keyword in their stories in order to draw attention to their stories… No, actually I am very sure of that. The question then becomes if that story actually has something in it that connects to a subject you are interested in or not. Sometimes it’s mostly not.
I’ll get the main point of this review out of the way first. If you are looking for Succubi with horns or tails, or Succubi of the myths and legends, you aren’t going to find them in this story.
Succubi are mentioned, that’s very true, but in that the women of this story consider themselves Succubi in what they do. And what they do is go around and kill off, then eat, people they describe as “douches.” Most of those events are skimmed over for the relationships that Heather has with the other women in the group and where things go from there.
There aren’t any sexual moments in the story really, which isn’t a bad thing considering. There is a lot of head games and confrontations in the story which over time force this story towards what is, really, very obvious from the beginning of the story.
The author writes well, they can tell a story and draw you into it, but over time I didn’t care about anyone in the story and by the end, I really didn’t care. The editing was good as well, but editing alone can’t help a story that just has no soul in it. And for me, even if you don’t have a Succubus in the story that I care about, I want to see something in the story that makes it worthwhile to me personally…
I’ll give this work one pitchfork out of five.
Not a story about Succubi, mostly a horror story wrapped in a hot flash sex story, and it really didn’t appeal to me at all…
