Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 12, 2021

Jane is lucky enough to have Lili as her roommate and, if she’s honest about it, a live-in succubus mistress. Halloween is approaching and Jane would like to try something new with a friend of Lili’s. Of course, that means Lili wants to be a part of the fun. Jane really has no idea what she’s in for, but it’s going to be fun.

The world reads very much like a fun anime with quite a lot of succubi fun and games along the way. There’s also a lot of tentacle sex as well, which makes for some really interesting moments. The beginning sets up the relationship between Lili and Jane really well and I liked the teasing and fun that mixed between the two of them.

Lili, the succubus of the work, is just wonderful in so many ways. She’s not stereotypical, is a delightful tease, mistress, friend and lover as the story unfolds. There’s a lot that isn’t said about her, which was a bit disappointing as there are a lot of hints about her powers but not a lot about her past. That would have been nice to know more about. Still, Lili is a joy throughout and made this work far more than I expected.

I think the story is adorably fun and the characters are perfect. What’s missing for me is telling more of the story of how Lili and Jane met, how things happened for them. It’s really a missing part and with how well they match as a couple, it just feels like there’s something missing in the story. But otherwise, it’s a lot of fun and it did bring me a smile.

Four out of five pitchforks.

Cute and fun really sums things up. I’d love to see another work telling more about Lili and her world sometime. The background is there and it’s an opportunity to play with I think.
