Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on August 16, 2024
The hunger of a succubus never ends and is ever needful. Sometimes the need becomes unexpected and within the moment, a succubus can become lost.
The work is a very short hot flash erotic work which is a bit different than what might be expected. There’s a specific focus in the storytelling and that isn’t in turning a focus on the succubus character or aspects of this being a succubus story.
There’s mention of one character being a succubus, though their name is never revealed. It’s more a passing note at the beginning and close of the story which gives a kind of explanation as to why they are taken into the encounter and what happens within it. But as to this being a story focused on succubus themes it really doesn’t have that.
The taboo aspects, noted in the book summary, are where the story tends to keep returning to. There’s a lack of heat to the storytelling, feeling very lost and trying to come to terms with the story and the characters. The passion seems to be missing in the rush to get to the sex scenes which leaves a lot to be desired honestly.
One out of five pitchforks.
It’s really not very much a succubus story in many ways, the focus just doesn’t bring that to the fore. There’s more hint than anything else and the erotica just didn’t have any heat overall. It reads very much like the opening to a larger work, but even with that said, there’s nothing there.
