Idalla is a Succubus NPC character created by Richard Baker who first appeared in the The Forge of Fury adventure module for the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game. As her role in this adventure was very limited, little character information or statistics were provided for her. The only note made of her situation or character was that she was trapped by a wizard in a room which players encounter her in. Physically she is described as a slender beautiful woman of medium height with long, black hair.
Appearance
Idalla is described as a slender beautiful woman of medium height with long, black hair. Being that she has been imprisoned by a wizard in the room she is encountered in, her clothing is described as being being well worn. Her Succubus form is not described, though it can be assumed that her human form is the same, save missing her natural Succubus physical attributes such as horns, tail and wings. She is very bored with being trapped where she is and her sadness is quite real in that she hates the situation she is in. If she is aware of the players, they will not see her in her Succubus form, and if they surprise her, she will shift as quickly as possible from her natural form to her human one before any players can glimpse that she is a Succubus.
Character Background
Idalla appears when players enter her Den during the adventure. The room itself contains some minor treasure, but otherwise is simply a library with many bookshelves and books scattered throughout the room. She is stuck in the room she is found in because a wizard had summoned her and then bound her to the room. She does not know why she was summoned, nor where the wizard is, but desperately wishes to escape and take revenge on the one that imprisoned her. There is however a means for her to escape and this requires a player with "good intentions" to attack her or to give her permission to leave the room.
Assuming Idalla is aware of the players approaching, she will check for any good aligned characters and focus her efforts, and powers on them. She will beg to be released, explaining that a wizard imprisoned her, and they are in another area. Her first actions are to use her powers and abilities to persuade the characters to give her permission to leave the room. If she is released, then she will teleport away to search for the wizard who bound her.
It is possible that Idalla might try to kiss a player and use her energy drain attack before she leaves. If she has not revealed herself to be a Succubus, then just before she leaves she will tell the players that not everyone is as they seem, her eyes will glow for an instant, and then she will vanish.
If the encounter is not peaceful, then Idalla will fight to defend herself. If one of the players is of good alignment, Idalla will play with them, starting with a charm person spell, then kissing the charmed target to use energy drain on them. If she takes any damage or has successfully drained one target, she will leave the area using teleport. She will use the same tactics if the characters attack her after they have freed her from her binding. If there are no good aligned characters, then Idalla will use her charm person ability to turn players against each other, and she can use this ability repeatedly, aiming to have her enemies kill each other.
