Plot Summary

A spooky tale with an erotic twist In the Arms of the Succubus. I have a new story at Amazon for your perusal. “In the Arms of the Succubus,” a wonderful, somewhat spooky tale in Millie’s Vast Expanse. Come along for a delightful visit to a far-flung past. We travel across the sea to a pleasant seaside village. As the sunlight fades, something rolls in with fog. The ephemeral creature who accompanied the fog titillates and tempts the most stoic of the villagers. She conveys him to the highest of positions. While she fetches him to the lowest state of his existence — all for her twisted pleasure. Let the Succubus, wrap her loving arms around you.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 6, 2019

The fog drifting around a village holds a secret for which one cannot be prepared. A darkness promising all, for a price to be paid. But there is no resisting a succubus when she creates no matter who you may be.

The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, erotic hot flash that sets the main character, a priest, against the nature of a succubus and the spiral that the two become entangled in. The story is interesting, the characters as well, and overall the heat works well as do the domination and submission aspects.

But being such a short story, there’s really not enough time for the story to express nuances, to delve into the background of the succubus as much as could have been. There are a number of questions and things to wonder about and given more time for the story to develop, that might have as well.

Maranda, the succubus of the work, is very much a creature of sex, passion, seduction and allure. She’s also a bit stereotypical in her darkness and evil which, against all else she is, felt a bit of a disappointment. She has a presence which envelopes the story and I liked that aspect of her. But at the same time the undercurrent of evil might have been a bit less expected as it took away something from her I thought.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

The work closes in a rather sad and honestly expected sort of way. Maranda’s nature as a succubus cannot be escaped and the fate she casts is rather a surprise in the last few pages. I do wish there had been more exploration of Maranda, to see past the surface and tell more of her story. Quite a haunting and erotic read, but so dearly tinged with sadness as well.
