Plot Summary

A young man guilty of drunk online shopping has purchased more than he's bargained for when he hires the services of Lilith, mother of demons, to perform a ritual for a Long-Lost-Love return encounter. When he sobers, and his libido mellows, he reaches out for a refund from this obviously fake shop, right? While he waits not-so-patiently to see how he's going to get his money back, he's surprised to see who does come back into his life. He's even more surprised to see how he reacts, and isn't entirely sure what's his doing or not as he learns a lesson of a lifetime, and hopefully gets another chance at love.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on April 7, 2023

David messed up and he knows it, it’s a shame that he never told Georgia what he should have. A night of drinking brings him to a website to order a ritual from a succubus to give him another chance. It turns out that the ritual is real, his desire is granted, but there’s one thing you should never do when a succubus gives you exactly what you wanted.

The work is a short hot flash of erotica that mixes in a bit of self-discovery along with a dash of a succubus who cares very much about one thing. It’s fun, the two main characters come together wonderfully and the story brings out emotional notes from both that bring a feeling of what might have been to them both.

The erotica is a bit over the top, not quite porn movie in the heat however, which I dearly appreciated. There’s an expiation of desires, the expression of need that worked well and felt right for the main characters. This is what the story focuses on, the main characters being brought together and the possibility of them being together once more could bring.

All of this is made possible by the succubus of the work, Lilith, and this is where the story made me sigh and shake my head in disappointment. That’s not because of Lilith herself, she’s absolutely wonderful, her character and personality delights me to no end. The problem is that she appears for just about two pages and she’s gone. That’s really a shame because the way she appears, what she says, just made me laugh out loud and adore her completely. But she’s a flash in the story and gone, which makes this work not really the succubus story I expected it to be. But it really could have been.

Three out of five pitchforks.

This really isn’t a succubus story by any means. Lilith’s appearance is so very short and so very much a tease, which is a real shame. It is a cute and fun story which really needs to be expanded on, if for no other reason than to learn more about Lilith and just how things came to be. That will probably never happen, but the idea amuses me and made this work a fun little read.
