Mastiphal, known as the Hunting Sovereign, is a Demon Lord in the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game. He is the current Favored Consort of Malcanthet and guards the the pit leading to Malcanthet's home layer of Shendilavri.
Description
Mastiphal is said to be a handsome demon with bright red skin, four arms, and a rack of ibex horns upon his angular forehead.[1]
Relationships
Mastiphal is the current Favored Consort of Malcanthet, and gained her favor by presenting her with the head of a huge fiendish smilodon slain on the hunting fields of Spirac. His audiences with Malcanthet have been less and less frequent, and he is willing to do anything to regain her attention.[1]
Realm
Mastiphal occupies the iron fortress Vanelon, on the layer of Pazunia. Vanelon guards the pit leading to Malcanthet's layer of Shendilavri, and is used as the home of whatever minor demon lord fills the ever-changing position of her Favored Consort.[1]

No official or OGL statistics have ever been issued.
Publication History
Mastiphal was one of many demon lords that was mentioned only by name in a list in the original Monster Manual II (1983).[2] He received further details in the third edition in Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss, but only in reference to his relationship with Malcanthet. No official statistics for this character have ever appeared.[1]
