Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 14, 2022

It’s a shame that the outline is so short as I don’t think it really expresses the depth of the writing. I’m uncertain as how to expand it however, the work is very emotionally complicated and perhaps being something of a mystery makes the discovery of what awaits that much more surprising.

The thoughts are expressed exceptionally well, the emotions come through I think very clearly. There are some dark moments mixed with the bright passions, but there’s really not an imbalance between the two.

Not quite erotica, though there is heat, there are works that express an encounter, a need, a wish. In those passages, the words get very close to revealing some truths, but there’s also seeming hesitation as well.

There is a fair expression of succubus themes, more in an understanding of the writer’s sexual needs it seems. It’s not specifically focused in a fantasy telling however. That said, the prose expresses the viewpoint well and reflecting on that the works within the collection give flashes of the needs and desires being a succubus has. That’s very unique and held my attention throughout.

Four pitchforks out of five.

It’s quite the telling work of poem and prose that expresses quite a lot of themes, needs and desire very well. Emotionally it’s a bit draining, teetering on the edge of some quite dark thoughts at times. But the tales expressed seem to tell a lot about the soul that shared them which I found to be captivating.
