Monique Gata Dupree, (born 10 December 1974, in Newark, New Jersey), also known as Monique Dupree, is a singer and a B-movie horror actress. She has been involved in several television and film productions and has played the role of a Succubus once in the 2010 American horror film Satan Hates You.
Biography
Monique Dupree's film career began at age 14 in the 1989 Morgan Freeman film Lean on Me. By age 18, she had performed in numerous stage productions, including the play Cry of the People by Robert Banks. She has appeared in over 30 films since that time including American Gangster, Life Support, The Replacements and Bikini Bloodbath 3. She has also appeared as the vampire Emerald in the film Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned. In 2006, she was named Silver Bullet Pictures' "Scream Queen of the Year"[1].
She has also worked as a model in the past. During her career with Troma Entertainment, she was the first African American "tromette", and the first actress to be a "tromette" twice. She has also appeared in numerous magazines worldwide. She is also known in the music industry as "The Original Gata" and is also the lead singer for the band Negro Childe.[2]
Monique Dupree appears regularly at horror and comic book conventions across the United States, including Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors, Dark X mas, Big Apple Convention, and Fear Fest.
