Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 6, 2026
Jason adores and loves his girlfriend Jynieth and her love for him is as endless. A succubus in love is a rare thing, and they are expecting a child soon. But the universe has a few roadblocks in the way to overcome for them and all those that are there to help. With humour, love and trust, anything can, and will happen.
The work is a wonderfully told fantasy adventure which focuses on the two lovers and the events that surround them, but mainly seen from the viewpoint of the main character of the series, Mr. French. It’s fun, the humour and repartee between the characters is first-rate and every page was just captivating. It’s not a work of erotica by any means, and really if there was that aspect to the story it wouldn’t really have worked well.
There’s a unique slant on the succubi in this work, mainly in that while they are succubi, that’s less important to the story than the relationships between each of them. There are a vast number of succubi that appear, Lilith and her sisters being very present throughout, as well as one incubus and, of course, Jynieth and Meryl, who is the main succubus character of the series, being the receptionist for Mr. French.
With the modern slant of the story telling, the descriptions of various otherworldly places and more, there’s a tone of amusement that just worked so dearly well here. Overall, this is really one of the best stories about succubi that I have read, and honestly the puns alone are well worth the read.
Four and a half out of five pitchforks.
This work was just fun from the first page to the last. The humour, the setting, the characters, the plot, everything was just a delight and I adored everything so much. I’ve been meaning to read the series this work is set in, mainly for a certain succubus receptionist that bemuses me and this work just tells me why that’s such a good idea.
