Plot Summary

Kevin Shields’ marriage is crumbling, and his restless desire leads him into a dark and forbidden obsession with his alluring neighbor, Trish. What begins as voyeuristic curiosity quickly spirals into a dangerous liaison when Trish reveals her true nature—a seductive succubus who thrives on pleasure and consumes the souls of her lovers.

Caught in a web of unrelenting temptation and supernatural danger, Kevin must confront his deepest fears and desires. As Trish offers him ecstasy beyond human comprehension, he must decide: will he surrender his soul for fleeting moments of bliss, or fight to reclaim what remains of his humanity?

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on June 3, 2025

Sometimes a glance takes a soul on a path they cannot escape from. Kevin couldn’t look away when his neighbour Trish caught his eye and then his very soul. There is no escape from a succubus’ grasp when she has but one thing in mind and will do anything to claim what she desires.

The work is a very short hot flash of erotica which focuses on the temptation of a succubus and those that cannot resist her. It’s very much a series of temptations and seductions which eventually trap the main character and sends them to their fate. The heat in the erotica is a bit tepid at times, there’s passion missing which would have meant a great deal. Similarly the dialogue feels flat and emotionless when there should be passion, the sense of seduction to be brought out more.

Trish, the succubus of the work, is rather stereotypical in that her focus is on claiming souls and the means to that end. She schemes, there’s hints of her nature, but overall the succubus aspects are muted and hinted at for the most part. They are there, mentioned and teased, but it’s all in passing and that’s a shame.

Trish was just far too one dimensional for my liking and the ending was telegraphed far too soon. The seduction aspects of the story were really well done, but as for Trish being revealed as a succubus, that was far too quick and didn’t play off everything else as well as it needed to.

Three out of five pitchforks.

Where the story ends is a bit of a shame, mainly in that it’s on the edge of Kevin’s fate and that isn’t explored. I think casting through that, revealing what awaited him and what Trish truly is would have made for a far more interesting close to the story. Perhaps there will be a follow on tale, but with all of the other works this author published in a short period of time, I doubt that will happen.
