"Please sir. We just want to be your evil harem of demon servants forever and ever..."
My demon wife has taken me to hell. I'm there on a rescue mission for a woman who never loved me. My demon wife is there to gather a harem of eternally gorgeous succubi just for me. I'm not sure who I want to succeed more, but one thing's for sure--I don't think I can stop myself from adding more gorgeous women to my harem anymore.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 27, 2024
You can’t always get what you want, so the saying goes. But when a succubus is involved and she’s willing to make anything happen, that’s not really true. But some desires come with a cost, whether that the one wanting or the one being desired. When the choice is made, what comes next can be anyone’s guess and everyone’s surprise.
Following on a short time from the prior work, what follows is a series of somewhat tepid erotic scenes interspersed with some really well written character development moments. There’s also a couple of delightful physical and mental transformations that were fascinating to me. It’s very much more focused on a harem theme for the most part however which makes the appearance of mythos about the succubi when it comes into play that much more captivating.
While Avelyn has been the main succubus character of the series, things take a turn and a vast number of succubi appear and bring with them a world and story that honestly was a lot more interesting than the main character was. That said, it wasn’t the focus of things and soon became more window dressing to the story which was a real shame.
Overall, the single thing about the work that kept my attention was the mythos being built around succubi. Otherwise, the harem aspects really didn’t appeal too much and as for the erotica, it was a bit flat. How things end could close the series out here, and it well might. Still, there are a few plots threads that could be explored which would be interesting.
Three and a half out of five pitchforks.
With all of the mythos and new succubi characters that appeared, it feels like there’s a bit of focus drift happening. The initial story idea of Claire being possessed by Avelyn seems to have become convoluted. That new aspect of things in the series really needs to be explored more. Perhaps there’s more to that than want has been said and that’s interesting. We’ll see if the series continues and I do hope it does if for no other reason than to explore the mythos being created here.
