Plot Summary
I used to live a peaceful life. A D-student at a third-rate college by day, an amateur journalist by afternoon. Then one night I had the bad luck to see her come out of that dive bar. She was a good-looking sort of girl, and she had talked to me. She had actively sought me ought to talk to me.
I knew she was up to something.
So I followed her. Her and her backwoods-looking buddy who was obviously too old for her. I followed them into the park, hoping to get some dirt on her so I could counter whatever she was planning to do to make a fool out of me. And I saw her and that backwoods guy get it on right there on the picnic table, and twelve minutes later he was dead. No, not even dead; there was nothing left to show he had ever existed.
Sophia de Nuit, that good-looking sort of girl, was a succubus. One good time with her and you were dust. Just the necessary fuel to add a few more years to a life that had already gone on for almost two hundred of them.
But even though I don't trust her, she seems to know something about this pedophile pastor I've been investigating, How far can I go before I end up dust in the wind, just like that backwoods guy? Will she help me get my story, or is she just leading me on so she can make me her next meal?
