Plot Summary

Surrounded by the enemies on all sides, running out of options, resources, and time, abandoned by the Goddess she served faithfully her entire life, the young and innocent High Priestess Seraphina is forced to strike a deal with the demons in order to protect her temple and all those in it.

Due to her innocence and inexperience, however, when the demons come to collect their payment, Seraphina realizes that she summoned not just any creatures of the night but monumental, handsome as sin itself incubi, demons of lust. And the debt to them is not to be paid in blood, not at all...

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on January 14, 2025

Seraphina’s world is coming apart and with all her faith and purpose, there seems to be nothing she can do to save those around her. In the depths of despair, a choice is made and the threat is overcome. But when you make deals with devils, eventually a price must be paid. For Seraphina, the price isn’t what she thought it would be.

The work is a fast paced hot flash piece of erotica which begins by telling the story of the main character and the choices she makes. What follows afterwards and makes up the majority of the work, is a long single scene of three incubi appearing and claiming their price from Seraphina. But that isn’t what might be expected as the story is more turned towards the incubi teaching Seraphina about herself and what she desires rather than anything else.

The erotica is a slow burn, not rushing into the raw heat all at once which worked quite well. It, and the incubi, tease and play their way towards the climax which is done really well as a whole.

The incubi of the story, Saleth, Crynnar and a third unnamed character, have the expected horns and tail, and are very much creatures of sex, delight and passions. Each has a very clear personality and their needs are different as well which brings them to take Seraphina towards parts of herself that she didn’t know of before.

I liked the slow build up, the ebbing submission that Seraphina falls into. There are a few points where the scenes are well one the top, but they are soon past and the next lesson is taught. Wit that said, there are points at which I’d wanted to know more about the incubi beyond their sexual need as each seems to have a story to tell and that wasn’t told and I wish it had been.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

The world building was interesting and it’s a shame the story closed where it did. As this was something of a vignette, delving into this world further would need something like a novel or a quest for Seraphina to undertake. That seems like it would tell a lot more about the incubi and her as well. Perhaps as part of what she’s done, Seraphina becomes a succubus, perhaps something else. It’s something to think about at the close and wonder what might have been next.
