Plot Summary
I have been sit free in the mortal world!
I am Lilith, the First Queen of Hell and the original succubus. Beaten, betrayed and cast into the Abyss, the deepest pit in Hell. I was betrayed by my demon lover; the beautiful Lady Namaah just as everything should have been ours for the taking. But I didn't sit idle as Namaah ruled in my place. I have been planing my revenge! Finally free of the Abyss, I find this new mortal world has plenty of sinful and sexual distractions to satiate even my veracious sexual apatite. As I gorge myself on the carnal desires of the mortal world I find her... a young mortal woman that bares the taint of Namaah's magic upon her....I decide to become powerful enough in this new world to take her from my enemies until I am strong enough to strike back against the pretender queen who sits on my throne.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on January 21, 2022
Lilith finds herself summoned to the mortal realm by a group with no idea of what they have done. Now free, she finds a world waiting for her rule and those that would try to oppose her. But there is nothing that can stop Lilith when her anger is aflame and the world will soon be on fire.
The work mainly focuses on the evil and horror that Lilith brings to others and doesn’t spend a lot of time in any sort of erotic heat as a result. Lilith is evil, very stereotypically so, and tends to care only for the terror and horrors that she can unleash. From the beginning of the work to the end, there’s very few moments when she isn’t torturing or killing others for her pleasure and amusement. It”s a shame because how she is described is delightfully seductive, but she just never really gets to be so.
The story is told from Lilith’s perspective and that narration reads flat and emotionless over much of the work. While there are some interesting subplots and events suggesting there’s something more to come, they tend to fade into the horror overall. As a work of medium horror it’s interesting, but it’s not a work of erotica.
The work needs another editing pass to bring life and emotion to the dialogue and make it sound better than it is. Beyond that the narration also needs to be cleaned up as there’s a number of word and spelling issues that take away from the work and it shouldn’t.
Two and a half out of five pitchforks.
Lilith is far too stereotypical for my liking, which is a shame. Hopefully this will change as the series moves onwards. I also hope the author corrects the spelling and grammar issues that take so much away as well. As the author notes, this is more horror than ertoica too and perhaps that needs to change a bit as well. It would make Lilith’s story more than it is so far and that’s something I’d like to see.
