Plot Summary

Cassie had something with her boyfriend Ethan, but it’s fading away. The appearance of Liam, her stepbrother is a surprise, but it’s more so when he reveals that he is an incubus. Is what follows the passions they have all hidden for years, or is it something else entirely.
The work is a hot flash piece of erotica which has an incubus theme to how things develop between the main characters. The erotica is a bit tepid, a little lost at times, but that’s a reflection of the characters themselves overall. There’s a sadness in each of them, it’s dearly present throughout and with that comes the heat of passion and desire feeling somehow out of place as well.
Liam, the incubus of the work, is a rather unique kind of incubus, how he came to be is a bit surprising overall. While he is an incubus, with the abilities of one, it’s more that he is seeking a need within himself and comes to the other characters to fill that need.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The ending puts a twist into the story which, honestly, takes away so much from it. It’s terribly sad, disappointing really, and I honestly feel that it expresses more about all of the character than all else that came before. In the end, this is an incubus story of a sort, but it’s one that keeps trying to find itself and when it finally does, it leaves sadness in its wake.
