Plot Summary
The incubus's plan works; Jake is brimming with desire. But Helen has long been yearning for the demon's touch.
When Helen sits in class the next day, she nearly has a heart attack: Xiarnath is standing at the lectern, perfectly disguised as a professor. The demon’s plan is working, because Jack stares at her, full of jealousy and territorial greed, as if he’d love nothing more than to jump right at his “rival’s” throat. But that was never what Helen wanted. She wanted to be loved, not become the plaything of two alpha males. To distract herself from her confusing feelings, she indulges in a hot, uninhibited encounter with the incubus, during which he takes her as tenderly as he does forcefully. And in doing so, he awakens feelings in Helen that she shouldn’t have.
