Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 25, 2018
Alice discovers a mystery that leads to magic and to her surprise, being commissioned to look after a lost succubus called Catlea. A promise made leads to a truth found and perhaps for both a future without borders to discover.
The work is a fantasy adventure mixed with a bit of succubus futa erotica and a great deal of both of the main characters development. A very emotionally draining story, the main character is pulled at throughout by Catlea, the succubus of the work and she in return as they both try to come to terms with the past, their present, and what it means to them both.
Catlea, the succubus of the story, is a dearly tragic character. Her past, what she has lost in life, time and love is heart-breaking. She’s anything but evil, there’s a kind of innocence about her that was really appealing and even when her succubus nature and needs came into play, that didn’t vanish. One of the most unique succubi characters I have encountered in some time and it did give me pause to consider and wonder about her.
Three and a half out of five pitchforks.
Another amazing piece of storytelling from beginning to close by far. I do wish there was more time spent with Catlea, to tell more of her past and perhaps something more of a postscript as the ending is bot so very sad and so very hopeful. It’s a shame that this was a one off story and Catlea’s story didn’t continue. But it is something to truly wonder about.
