Plot Summary

Remi never meant to summon a demon. Who would? But after she accepts her acquaintance, a cute girl named Paige, in her house things just got out of hand. With developing feelings for her new roommate and the succubus she has bound herself to, Remi has a lot to navigate through. Especially since she has to take over as Hell's favorite lesbian mistress. It all starts with a frenzied, mindless spell circle. Only time will tell if she can keep up with the lust of Hell to help pave her way through college. But who knows, maybe it'll be fun?

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on January 8, 2023

Remi offers to help Paige who needs a place to call home. Paige is so very thankful and offers Remi a book that can offer anything she desires. Magic isn’t real of course, but the book drive Remi to a summoning. Having Moth the succubus appear is unexpected, but may open them all to worlds they never expected to be.

The work is a mix of fantasy, light female domination, succubus themes which come together in a story that has heat, hope and desires. It’s an engrossing story which lays the groundwork for the series to come well. There is a lot of details, the story draws itself out at times, but when Moth appears, that’s the point where the story gathers itself.

Moth, the succubus of the work, isn’t exactly stereotypical, though she has some aspects of that in her. She’s very dominant, a bit controlling when the moment needs her to be. She’s a catalyst for the relationship of Remi and Paige to find itself and move forward. That works well, the introspectiveness in Moth tugging on Remi and making their deal offers some delightful heat in the erotica that brought out more about both characters.

As this is the opening work of the series there really isn’t a lot of passage of time or moving the story forwards. The world building is central, that is done well and works overall. Similarly, the characters settle into their places here, their development to come as the series goes on. The best thing is the flavor of the text, the emotional connections nd the teases of what comes next.

Four out of five pitchforks.

There hasn’t been a follow-on work released as of this review and I hope there will be. The setting up that consumed this book really needs to pay off in what comes next and it will. The characters are wonderful, the story telling is a delight. If there’s one thing I do want is that Moth becomes something more than what’s been told so far. There’s a lot of promise and I hope there will be more.
