Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 1, 2020
Safi has a goal, but her past will come back to bite her. Making a deal with the devil, whichever one that is, never goes well and in the end, Safi’s own desires will trap her and bend her.
The work is a rather complicated erotic hot flash with a very strong domination and submission theme wrapped inside of a fantasy world. The story moves quickly from moment to moment, and the story tends to leave some of the character development aside for the sake of getting to the erotica itself.
The erotica is very focused on the domination and submissive theme as the title of the work suggests and overall it doesn’t feel odd out out of place. There are a few points when it is very much over the top, in a hell sort of way, but when Safi falls into her submission it is quite telling.
Safi, the succubus of the work, has those aspects to her, but they are somewhat set behind her nature as a witch, taking some time to come to the fore. The little tidbits of her past were a tease really, they not being explored at all and really that might have been the missing piece here. She has the power of a succubus, but that is caught behind a snare of fate and there might have been more to that than what came out in the story.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The work closes in a rather depressing and sad place, but at the same time that seems to work well with the overall story and what happened to the main character. with that note, the work is more about domination and submission with the succubus aspects being a means to an end and to explain why things happen as they do. It is interesting overall, but perhaps more about Safi’s succubus nature would have been a good thing here.
