Plot Summary

Now a succubus herself, Janine must come to terms with all that entails. Her husband certainly has no complaints, but the relationship with her stepdaughter Megan grows increasingly awkward.

Katrina offers to help, but can she trust the one that changed her in the first place? Can she afford not to, when her hunger for sex grows intenser by the day?

Book Review

The following review was published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on February 24th, 2013

Janine’s first day as a Succubus is filled with self-exploration, broadening of her own sexual desires, moments of surprise and, in the end, a revelation to herself, her husband, and her stepdaughter.

There is actually a lot of character development in the story which I was quite pleased to see. Now, a lot of that is tied up within Janine, her thoughts, and how her being a Succubus changes her own instincts and desires. This was neatly done and I liked the interplay within herself over what she was thinking of doing, then did, then thought back upon it all. The description of her powers, the effect she, and Katrina had when she was there as well, also was well done.

The time spent between Katrina “holding” Janine’s hand through the day were nice and really made a lot of sense. Katrina’s explanation of Succubi and what they were and are in this universe made a good deal of sense, but the contradiction between her being a Succubus for so long and Janine’s still human view of things was an interesting contrast which isn’t seen very much in stories about Succubi.

While the core of the work is about Janine, there is much about her husband, what she has done to him and the explanation of that which made a good deal of sense. It was also amusing to see Megan’s reactions to what Janine wants and needs now. Where these two plots go from here I would like to see. I have a thought about Michael which a comment from Katrina has nudged me towards and as for Megan… Well, there is a huge hint there as well…

But I’m not going to spoil those thoughts…

As in the first work, there are themes and plots that are not closed by the end of the work which I am fine with. Two important questions that I had from the first work in this series were answered and the new ones are tempting ones indeed.

One minor complaint about the story, and it is minor really, there are some minor word errors which I noticed. Otherwise the story itself is well done, the characters are still as interesting to me as they were, and I really did enjoy the work as a whole.

I’ll give this work three and three-quarter pitchforks out of five.

A bit more story, perhaps two pages to settle Janine’s thoughts and I think I would have liked it as much as the first work. I’m really quite enjoying this series and I do hope for more sometime soon. I can see several paths for the story to take from here. Won’t spoil them, but oh they are interesting…
