Plot Summary
There's nothing like a cop to ruin some well-deserved fast food. Greasy, grimy, salty, disturbed, fatty sexual predators are Lena's guilty pleasure; she could eat ten a day and still want more. Maybe she's eaten too many. Derek Delaney has been tracing the sudden disappearances of random men across the country. Each of these men were accompanied by a provocative redhead immediately before they fell off the face of the earth; it's his sworn duty to find her and take her down. But when she turns her hypnotizing eyes on him, will he be able to finish his mission? Or will he just be another victim to her womanly wiles?

Lena may be a succubus, but she is a very selective one. But that really doesn’t matter for Derek, she’s a killer and it’s his job to find her and deal with her. But sometimes the universe has other ideas, other things in mind.
The work is a riveting mix of adventure and mystery with a bit of a detective vibe to carry the story. It’s passionate, the characters are so very snarky with each other, and watching that unfold as the reality of their situation comes out is just so well done. There are moments of erotica, but they aren’t over the top or feel out of place. The scene between the main characters just works, and the climax leads to a story close that feels right.
Lena, the succubus of the story, isn’t evil by any means. She has a purpose and she’s very clear on that above all else. Her aspects as a succubus are there, save for horns or tail. There are some lovely moments of mind control, of being a seductress too. Lena is just a really well crafted succubus character with a presence and it’s just a lot of fun to see what happens around her and how she reacts to it all.
Just an amazingly fun and delightful story, both Derek and Lena are wonderful characters. I do wish there had been more told about succubi and incubi in this universe, why things happened, more of Lena’s story really needed to be told.

It’s a shame that this work wasn’t continued into the series it was meant to be. There’s so much to tell here and delving more into how everything worked would be something to see. More so, to see what happened between Derek and Lena, to see if things changed for the better or something else happened. A lot to wonder about and I really wish that had been revealed.
