Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 17, 2021

Hassan knows much of the past and the riches that can be found. But an unwise choice leads to him allowing Lilitu unto the world once more. But not all is as it seems and when the time comes to choose, he has but one option or lose all.

The work is mainly an adventure with a strong connection to various myths along the way. It’s not quite a story in the traditional sense, reading more like a script or treatise overall. At times it does make for some oddities, perhaps a bit of confusion, but overall it is an interesting story at the core.

The succubus of the work, Lilitu, isn’t quite a stereotypical succubus in their nature, though at times they tend to be more a disinterested Goddess than anything else. She is unique, there is something about her that I do like, but it’s a bit hard to put into words why that is. She’s different, which interests me, and given her moods and actions, there’s a lot of promise with her.

A bit unexpected telling of a story, a bit more editing and perhaps focus would be a good thing. Overall there’s something interesting here and I think expanding on that more would make things a better read. It’s a telling and unique piece of writing which I thought worked well for its purpose.

Three out of five pitchforks.

It’s different and has an involving plot idea which makes this an interesting read. Perhaps not completely a succubus story, but there is something here to find.
