Plot Summary
Break ups suck, but at least I have an amazing roommate who is willing to go above and beyond to make me feel better. Sometimes that means tequila, and sometimes that means ancient and forbidden spells that summon a literal man of our dreams. When things get heated with a very hungry incubus, lines start to blur and I wonder what will happen if we can't satisfy our end of the pact.
Maybe I'll have some of the tequila too. This is going to be a long night.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 26, 2024
Life sucks for Alexa in every way possible and all that seems left is a night moaning about how unfair it all is with her friend Rachel and something to drink their troubles away. But Rachel has other ideas and perhaps one of them will be the solution they both need. After all, you can’t possibly summon an incubus for sex can you?
The work is a very short hot flash which mixes a ménage a trios with the appearance of an incubus to spice up the story and allow the main characters a way to reveal the feelings they have for each other. There’s lovely heat, the story flows really well too. The passions between all of the characters goes from a simmer to a boil as the incubus appears and reveals the feelings the two women have for each other.
The erotica doesn’t overpower the story, or the characters. It’s more of a fall into passions than an orgy and I rather enjoyed that. It does become slightly male dominant in tone, but that’s not forced, the characters fall into their pent-up needs and that works really well.
The incubus of the work, who is never named, isn’t evil. He’s more naughty and a temptation than anything else. It’s that aspect of him that overcomes the little stumbles the story has here and there with him. He’s a mixture of modern with a bit of incubus traits around the edges. But that said, his underlying power does come though, and the heat when the women fall into his orbit is just a lot of fun to watch unfold.
The single thing that really bothers me about this work is with all of the time and effort taken to make the characters interesting and the incubus delightfully seductive, he’s never given a name. That said, how things end offers the possibility of a follow on work and that would be interesting to see.
Not just for the possibility of the incubus being given a name, but more for what happens next for the trio. The thought of the incubus becoming a roommate, and perhaps drawing the two women into becoming more lustful beings seems like a really good place to take things. Perhaps that will happen.
Three and a half out of five pitchforks.
This is a hot flash of a tale with quite a lot of character development and story told. The incubus is something more than expected, if very focused on sex, but not evil and that makes things a lot more interesting for where being naughty takes things. A hot story overall with a few missing pieces, but still a fun read.
