Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 1, 2022

Trent isn’t the luckiest of guys at college and finding a book about Lilith, a very old book, and letting his hormones get the better of him wasn’t the best thing he’s done. But Jezebel is delighted that she’s been summoned to help, in her own way, this terribly unfortunate man. With so many temptations waiting Jezebel will see to it that Trevor gets everything, and everyone, possible.

The work is very much focused on Jezebel, the succubus of the work and her temptations and where that takes the story and the main character. There’s lovely heat in Jezebel’s scenes, she’s every bit the naughty seductress she should be. Not at all stereotypical, she is very much a creature of sex and desire, her personality fits that very well. Her teasing is wonderful, there’s little hints of mind control that work quite well too.

Trevor is for the most part along for the ride and he is for the most part at Jezebel’s tender mercies. It’s not evil as such, it’s more Jezebel seeking out all of the naughty thoughts that Trevor has and making them happen.

The erotica, being mainly Jezebel’s succubus nature, is told well. The descriptions of her form, her smile, the naughty considerations that lead Trevor towards what she wants from him are perfect for Jezebel and who she is. It’s not all she is, there’s things about her that I hope will be told, that might take this work and turn it towards being a bit more female dominant that male, which is what most of this author’s works revolve around.

The idea of Jezebel taking control of things, bending those around her to fall to her will would be fun. It also would be interesting if there was some succubus possession of others or perhaps some succubus transformations. I can see that working over the series and would be something different.

The story has a lot of heat, Jezebel is delightfully naughty and a lot of fun overall. I’m going to hope that she doesn’t turn evil, that would really be a shame. More so, I’d like her at some point to be in the physical world and using her lovely mind control teases and powers on others. And then there’s the question of Lilith and what Jezebel isn’t quite saying about her too.

That all said, my one issue with Reed’s works still comes to the fore. Why are there so many spelling and word errors? There’s nothing wrong with the heat, the story its interesting and has promise, but the mistakes just take me out of the story too often and it shouldn’t happen.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

I look forward to the next work in the series, Jezebel is a lot of fun and this could be one of this author’s best works.
