Plot Summary

A ballroom contains the mysteries of souls and desires entangled and seeking release. For Lilith, it is a place to hunt, to capture and possibly more. Across the room the mage Veronica awaits with her own desires and dreams, being drawn to Lilith and she in return. What is the price of a deal bound in passion and need when seduction overcomes all else?
The work mixes steampunk fantasy with a supernatural tone which works quite well in setting the stage for the main characters to be drawn to each other and the entanglement that follows. The writing is very textured, the character have depth and personality that brought delight to the sparring they pass through in trying to find what their desires are and act upon them. There’s a very strong D/s tone to the work, but it’s not out of place or feels wrong. Lilith is very much a Domme and there’s no question she is in control as the story progresses and Veronica’s needs and wants are revealed.
Lilith, the succubus of the work, is every bit the dominant seductress of power that she should be. The power she holds is very present in the tone of her voice, the nature of how she plays with Veronica, and she’s very much the succubus Lilith of dark power and temptation she should be. She is, very much, one of the few depictions of Lilith which are focused on her being a seductress first and all else afterward and that was quite refreshing.
The writing is very good, the erotica has lovely heat, and every page is a wonderful discovery. I might have liked a bit more told about Lilith, a little more about Veronica as well. There’s a mystery here that gets set aside for the erotica and seduction which I think would have added an aspect to things that would be so very telling about both of them.
Four out of five pitchforks.
Just deliciously told, the heat is just wonderful. The work ends in a place that allows for more to follow, and I do hope that happens. Both Lilith and Veronica are wonderful characters and to see their relationship, and the deals made, unfold and what comes from that is something to wonder about.
