Plot Summary
Mysterious sightings in an otherwise tranquil park. The earth shaking beneath the feet of all those upon it. These curiosities and more bring Tenebra Zeta to the Land of the Rising Sun in what proves to be their deadliest and most awe-inspiring challenge yet. From a calm air bursts a mighty hydra, fully prepared to raze Osaka to the ground and slaughter whoever gets in its way. The team battles on, all the while unaware of the smirking mastermind hiding in the shadows.
And the surprises yet continue. As Lance is separated from the group via his own carelessness, he stumbles upon a great power that proves herself to be Zeta's greatest asset to date. Uncertainty and conflict occur, but when the innocent are caught in turmoil, the daughter of the legendary Shuten-doji refuses to look away. With their strength combined, the full strength of Tenebra Zeta is brought to bear.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 19, 2019
Things never go as planned, they never are as simple as one might like them to be. For Lance, the problems are creeping in around him, his family, and his team. But you never give up, there’s always a chance, you just don’t believe in things being a no-win situation after all.
The work continues on from the prior work in the series, the story is a lovely complex tapestry of characters, events and more that combine into a really quite telling story of the characters growing and making their collective way towards what comes next. A mixture of adventure and mystery with a little bit of a hentai and anime edge, it’s quite fast paced and very much a page turner.
All of the characters are a delight, of course I adore Lance and his adopted family of succubi completely. The bits of snark, the teasing and more are a lot of fun and the characters all remain true to themselves. There’s even an appearance of a certain red-tailed Queen of the Succubi to add her own sense of bemusement along the way. To say I love the series is really not saying everything, but it should be quite telling overall.
Five out of five pitchforks.
I adore the series, that goes without saying of course. It’s a delight to see how things unfold, the moments that tell the story, and how the characters evolve throughout. Just a fun read and every page brought me a smile.
I will add a small postscript to thank Justin for allowing “me” to appear and giving me the chance to add a bit of my personality as well. I look forward to every new work with delight and anticipation.
