Plot Summary
Brenda's husband had been dead for almost a year. Then, he came home again. Just like that! He unlocked the door with his keys, hung his coat in the closet, poured himself a cup of coffee, and began to visit her every night. Young and fearless nightclub singer Cindy lives alone. But someone keeps lighting the candle on her dining room table. And, the footsteps in the living room are not the searching steps of a burglar, but the steps of someone who has made himself at home. As encounters with the supernatural world increase, people in Gentry County start searching for the truth about what is happening. Are the dead really dead? Or are they alive in another form, free to roam the earth and interact with the living?
Everyone, from church-going people and pastors to a coven of witches must examine what they believe as one by one they are swept into the maelstrom of a spiritual battle more intense than anything they ever imagined. It is a question worth considering for all of us as more and more movies, television and books focus on the supernatural. If the dead are still conscious why wouldn't they make contact with the living - especially those they have loved? If ghosts can haunt houses and spirits can communicate with the people who channel them, who wouldn't want to know what was happening and why?
In this book, Dan M. Appel takes this subject head-on with answers designed to provide information and to challenge our thinking and preconceptions. Because, sooner or later we all have to choose.
