Plot Summary

When I volunteered to play organ at church, I didn't expect to meet Ethan, an incubus trying to kick his addiction to lust. Now I'm his "sponsor" in more ways than one, helping him navigate the human world while he awakens parts of me I never knew existed. We're dodging nosy pastors, jealous demons, and our own insecurities, all while trying not to combust from the sexual tension.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 2, 2025

Claire sometimes gets turned about when she is in a rush and making such a turn brings her to encounter Ethan. There’s something about him, her thoughts keep returning to hime over and over again. When Ethan reveals he is an incubus, things take another turn unexpectedly. Sometimes two wrong turns make everything right if you can believe.

The work is a lovely romantic tale wrapped in erotic tomes with a bit of an incubus flair. The focus sets onto the two main characters figuring each other out, coming to try to understand one another and at the same time having to deal with some insistently bothersome forces that keep getting in the way.

Not a dark story, or evil for that matter, much of the story is awkwardly fun and cute. occasionally lost, which reflects the main characters well. The romance and connection works its way towards the erotic climax, and it’s just perfectly done. More than anything else, the character development is captivating and held me to the story throughout.

Ethan, the incubus of the story, is not at all stereotypical, being thoughtful and caring very much about Claire. While there are some mentions of his past, its the baring of his soul to her, to resist his nature and want to be with her for the sake of being so which makes him just such a telling character.

With that said, there is a minor character, Silas, who is also an incubus and is eminently unlikeable, stereotypical and honestly at times felt very much tacked onto the story as a point of conflict. While that made sense and allows for the climax to appear, with all else that Claire and Ethan were dealing with, and for how little Silas appears, I found myself wondering if it really needed to be done. It’s a matter of taste I admit, but perhaps there might be another reason for him to be there to consider.

Four out of five pitchforks.

The work closes in a way that brings things to a point that works well for the main characters. It also draws the curtain on them in a way that suggests there won’t likely be a follow on story. With that said, there might be another story here, perhaps something in the way of another redemption arc if the author took that path. A lovely romantic story with a bit of an erotic edge which was a delight to discover.
