Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on April 11, 2023

Justin desires his life to be better, but the problem is what does better mean, exactly. A friend’s experience draws him to a club where he encounters Deamon, the focus of all desires it seems. A choice made, Justin soon loses himself in the reality offered and in doing so, Jasmine finds herself enraptured by what can be possible, it she desires.

The work’s focus is mainly on gender transformation, bimbofication and a scattering of various fetishes and fantasy themes. As such there isn’t a lot of pauses in the story or time for Justin, or Jasmine, to really reflect on what’s happening. The mind control aspects mixed in the transformations quickly fades Justin away leaving Jasmine to experience further fantasies and what they do to her.

The erotica is very much part of the transformations, and that works well to give little moments of heat with each that appears. But with all of the transformations things become somehow scattered and the story felt like it was losing focus towards the climax.

The character Deamon isn’t an incubus, more of a genie granting wishes for a price. There is a devilish aspect to him, which works well to draw Jasmine deeper into his lair. As for Jasmine herself, it’s only at the last few pages that she becomes a kind of succubus. It’s a moment In the story and then another transformation appears and the story moves onwards.

The thing is, there’s really not that many latex succubus characters. Telling more of that aspect of Jasmine would have been interesting. Even if only in passing and not revealing all, seeing her out in the world drawing others to Deamon would have made sense. Still, she is a succubus, if fleetingly and that felt like it was tacked on at the end.

Two and a half out of five pitchforks.

The succubus theme is only in passing, it’s not central to the story overall. Still, the balance of the transformations are interesting, if sometimes feeling like a sampling of various fetishes until the work comes to a close. As a gender transformation story and a fetish work, it’s interesting, but this isn’t the succubus story it could have been by far.
