Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on April 28, 2024
There are some secrets that are meant to be held close to oneself. The truth can be so very different than what the legends say it is. In finding the truth, a priest finds a demoness and through each other the needs of their souls are made complete.
The work is a very short hot flash piece of erotica which tells the story from the perspective of the main character and one in a series of encounters he has with a demoness. It’s a very focused piece of writing, telling just enough at the beginning to set up the scene and the characters before entwining them both in an erotic scene that makes up much of the work.
As a hot flash, the heat within the story is quite well done, if feeling a bit rushed like the work itself. There’s no real dialogue, the story told in narrative and that works well as a whole to bring passion between them and tell an engaging story.
The succubus of the work, who is never named, is very much a mystery. Why she is there, what her story is, doesn’t come into play at all. It’s clear her desires are those of sexual and other pleasures however and it’s not clear if she’s really evil. As things are within the story told, I don’t feel like she is, but that said, the story that could have been told about her is missing and I wish it wasn’t.
The descriptions, the narrative, the erotica itself are well written and create a story universe that, honestly, needs to be explored. It is very rushed and I’d have liked more time to build the story, have the main character explore the demoness’ body more tactilely and have that bring about more passion from the demoness herself than what comes out of the story.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The work is so dearly short which is a real shame. There’s quite a lot left unsaid, the past left to wonder about and the current relationship to delve into. Perhaps that’s something for the author to think about. There’s a really good long form story in this hot flash and it would be something that really needs to be explored further I think.
