Plot Summary

Two friends find a device that can transform them into anyone they want and have some fun until everything goes wrong. Caleb's parents have left him alone while they go on vacation. But when Caleb finds a strange device in his front yard that can transform him and his friend into anyone else using just a photo, the long weekend takes a sexy turn. The guys take turns transforming each other into their fantasy women, discovering along the way that any text they write on the picture also becomes true. The weekend seems a dream come true, until the inclusion of some accidental text almost ruins everything.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on July 24, 2022

A mystery device appears to Caleb and his best friend. Discovering that they have the power to change who they are, the pair experiment to see what they can do. But changing one’s gender is just the beginning when you can be anything you might desire.

The work is mainly a science fiction story with a gender transformation theme. It’s a bit tepid on the erotica overall, some of the dialogue is quirky as well. There is a single scene in which there is a succubus transformation however that offered something interesting.

Caleb, the character who is gender transformed into being a succunus, undergoes a really interesting mental shift when the transformation is done. Mixed in are the powers she has and the effects they have on others. Once his old self is lost to her new self there was a turn in how the story was told and that added a lot.

Written well, the characters have their moments, but it’s a bit teenage comic at times which didn’t quite work for me. I wish there’d been more description of the transformations themselves as they are too quick which was disappointing. The mental shifts as a result of the transformations worked well however.

It’s a bit rushed at times, the time Caleb spends as a succubus could have been stretched out more, her powers described more would have added a lot. There’s a seed of something more that just doesn’t quite make it out before the story rushes towards the climax and ends.

Three out of five pitchforks.

It’s not really a succubus story, though the small part which has a succubus theme is interesting. There could have been more done, perhaps getting into the world rather than being trapped where the characters were might have added something. More science fiction and gender transformation by far, there wasn’t enough succubus for me.
