Plot Summary

Mikael, a newly crowned Devil with a dangerous allure, embarks on a seductive quest to recruit female succubus from different eras throughout history. With his irresistible charm and cunning strategies, Mikael entices these women to join him, promising them a life of pleasure and power. From an alluring Egyptian dynasty, and fierce Greek Seductresses, to city-burning Viking Queens, these women fall under Mikael's spell, becoming pawns in his grand plan.

However, as Mikael's harem grows stronger, so does the danger. An Ancient enemy resurfaces, an unspoken Holy bloodline of exorcists is Hell-bent on thwarting his mission and exposing his true intentions. Mikael must navigate a treacherous path, balancing his desires with the growing threat to his existence. With the fate of the succubi and the world at stake, Mikael must make a choice that could seduce the most powerful men in the world.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on July 9, 2024

Mikael has a plan and a purpose, but to achieve his goals a quest must be accomplished. Succubi are needed and there are many women from history to choose from. But only a few have the darkness within them which he craves, but they may be what ultimately brings about his destruction.

The work is mainly a passage through various points in history by the main character which leads to various encounters. There’s quite a lot of character manipulation, events unfold which create strife, anger, and a need for revenge as well. These aspects result in whichever of the women he has focused on being drawn inro making a deal with the devil and falling to it.

While there are erotic aspects, they aren’t really the focus. They add a little entanglement and a means to push the characters towards their eventual transformation. They are unique for each, being grounded in their individual historical settings. With that said, the development of the intrigue of each woman, the internal monologues and what drives them is quite captivating.

While each of the succubi are different in skin tone, colour, horn shape and so on, they all are very much succubi in their nature. They are also very close to becoming stereotypically so at times but the author manages to keep each of them true to their original selves. But there is a very strong undertone of darkness which comes out and given that this appears to the be first work in a series, where that takes the story, and the characters is the question. A seduction of succubi with strong wills can be so dearly dangerous to the unwary or overconfident.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

The concept is interesting and offers quite a lot, but the overall work feels too rushed. Perhaps more time spent in the aftermath would have helped to being closure to each of the succubi. It’s the details between the first encounter and the fall that seem like parts were missing and need to be explored. If there is a follow on work, it would be fascinating to have the succubi gathered and discussing events between themselves, and possibly to plot anew.
