Plot Summary
He visited me three times. I was insatiable after the first visit. I didn't know what he was or why he had chosen me, but the desire to be with him was too strong to question. I decided immediately that as long as he wanted to keep me, I would allow it because there was no denying that I wanted him too, and I wanted him bad.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on February 8, 2019
A dream is but a dream until the dreamer is visited three times by their dream. A passion wanted, a desire revealed can lead to what is missing in one’s life forever.
The work is a somewhat complicated male/male erotic story with a simmering heat that carries throughout. It’s a bit lost at times, a reflection of the main character’s uncertainness and how the incubus of the story, Nox, entangles himself with the main character and what in doing so that leads to.
The passions are very raw, the moments sometimes are on the edge of being over the top in the domination themes as well. That said, the story feels like an ongoing dream for the main character until the very last page.
Nox, the incubus of the work, is very much a mystery from the beginning. He’s not overtly an incubus, but the hints are there. Quite dominating, his needs press on him and in doing so he takes the main character on a journey to discover themselves, which I think was well done. But his being an incubus really didn’t matter to the story overall, not delved into at all until a realization comes at the end and then passes by.
Three out of five pitchforks.
It is an interesting start to the series, though the incubus theme is I felt very muted overall. It’s there, hinted at, but does not fully come into focus until the very last page. I wonder what the next work will bring, where the characters will go in their journey and what that might be.
