Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 14, 2025
A world of erotic fantasy revolves around both the dominant and the submissives that exist within. Among them all an incubus seeks out pets to add to his collection and to discover what else awaits him along the way.
The work is a fantasy adventure with a very strong BDSM theme and the main character being an incubus. While the work tends to use BDSM themes as the main focus, there are some aspects of mind control which are used with the main character’s abilities as an incubus to flesh out the story.
The erotica is a bit harsh at times, some of the scenes being a bit over the top and perhaps a little less than passionate and more single minded. The characters are interesting nonetheless, their stories and development add quite a lot which overcomes some of the BDSM which I couldn’t really enjoy as it was too harsh for me.
Lukiy Ashcroft. the incubus of the work, isn’t evil or stereotypical. He is however a bit single-minded and just a bit over the top as a dominant. What does make him interesting is there is a quite a lot of detail about the powers of an incubus throughout the story. It’s those details that take the story in unexpected directions and I enjoyed that aspect.
But what’s missing is delving into the mythos of the succubi and incubi in this universe. While there is a bit of that, especially with Nicole, Lukiy’s succubus sister, it’s a bit glossed over. Still, the work itself was more than I expected it to be overall and it’s a shame that it no longer is available.
Three out of five pitchforks.
It’s a shame that the series didn’t continue as there were aspects that would have been really interesting to explore. The mythos around the incubi and succubi being one of them. It was an interesting mix of fetish and incubi themes, if a bit rough around the edges and catering to a specific interest.
