Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on January 8, 2021
The work is a very short hot flash of erotica, what I refer to as a pamphlet in length. As such the story feels a bit rushed at times, there are moments when the scenes don’t really connect well or something happens and the meaning is lost around the edges. There is something of a disconnect between the characters in the story, who they are, and what happens by the end of the story. Personalities change and it’s something of a given, it’s not explored as to why they do so.
The erotica is a bit muted overall, though some of the mind control aspects work well, the succubus transformation is interesting as well. But there are scenes which feel like they were added on as an afterthought which is bothersome.
Jason, the main character who is transformed into the succubus Jasmine, is a bit different as a succubus in that there are a lot of other transformations created by her that really don’t quite make sense for a succubus. Whem she is fully Jasmine in personality as well as physical form, it’s very clear she is a creature of sex, bat at the same time there’s a purpose to her which the story delves into. But with that being said, there’s really very little of her being a succubus overall and it was a little disappointing that wasn’t explored more than the sex and then the large number of other transformations that come to pass in the story.
Two and a half out of five pitchforks.
It’s very much less a succubus story than it is a story about a gender transformation with a succubus theme to it. Beyond that there’s just a lot of odd turns as well which leaves a lot of questions behind. It is interesting, but overall it’s less of a succubus story than I wanted things to be.
