Plot Summary
This is the true story of a man who engaged in a sexual relationship with a female demon or succubus who called herself Lliana in attempt to get over his breakup with his fiancé. In the course of their relationship, he discovers that the succubus has been following the events of his life since his childhood, and that their meeting is the final stage of a lifelong generational curse dating back to the 11th Century in Venice, Italy. He discovers that his lineage to the 28th Doge of Venice is the reason his life has been cursed, and he must now consider that the demon lover he has fallen in love with might be a demonic assassin come to claim his soul. He learns that unless she wins his soul over, she will be banished in The Arid Places, a fate all demons fear. Will she betray him, or can their love survive her fear of banishment that awaits her if she fails to dispatch his soul to hell?
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on December 29, 2020
The work is the telling of a relationship between one soul and one succubus and what happens between them. It’s not erotica, it is more of an exploration of the soul, of need, and what choices are made for the sake of another.
There is one main succubus of the work who is cast through time and space with a purpose that comes into focus by the close of the story. She’s not evil as such, more a watcher and seeker, seeing hoe things develop and becoming entangled with the main character of the work. It’s something of a star-crossed love, a need left wanting, and in the end there is a piece missing yet to be explored.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The work is an interesting, if odd read overall. The tone and story flow feels like a stream of consciousness and at times is a bit scattered and lost. Still, the overall story, characters and emotional impacts are quite telling and held my interest throughout.
