Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on April 20, 2018

Life can change in an instant and when things turn really bad, that’s when what you find waiting for you can change not just who you are, but all that you are. Death opened the door for Aiden to become Aeriel, a newly born succubus. But it’s what comes next, and what Aeriel discovers about herself, that changes everything.

The work is a mixture of a modern setting with some fantasy adventure and mystery, a gender transformation, and a bit of physical transformation as well. It’s quite a lot of fun, the mystery is interesting too. The characters have a lot of depth and personality which adds to the overall story very well.

While there are erotic aspects to the story, it’s really not the focus. The erotica is lovely, the heat is very good and the entanglements which Aeriel finds herself in are just a delight. There is a point to the erotica, it isn’t in the story just because Aeriel is a succubus. Her character and taat of others in the story are transformed as well and that made things so much more captivating.

Aeriel. the succubus of the work, is anything but stereotypical and I just adore her. She is very much a baby succubus on her own, but her growth isn’t odd or over the top. It makes sense, there is purpose and by the end of the work she has become something far more than what might have been expected of her.

Four and a half out of five pitchforks.

Just a really fun and captivating story that was a lot of fun. Being that this was supposed to be the beginning of a new series, it set up the universe, the characters and the ending provided a lot for the series to continue with. But sadly that never happened. As a note this review was created in 2024 and at this point with nothing more from this author appearing, more is the shame. But it is still very much worth a read, to enjoy the story, the fun and the passions above all.
