Plot Summary

Being a lesbian cursed to roam this Earth as a succubus the last person I expected to find a soul mate in was a lonesome werewolf named Lucas. Fate had different plans on the night of a full moon when I stumbled into him at a bar. I am used to being the predator as a succubus, but he ended up surprising me when he turned the tables. After taking in his energy, I was changed into a wolf for the night. My name is Serena and this is my story of finding a friend who changed my life for the better in ways I could’ve never imagined.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on December 24, 2024

Serena’s life changed because of her family’s past. Transformed into a succubus because she had love, is a terrible thing to carry with oneself. But she must feed and stumbling into Lucas seems not the worst thing. Except he’s a werewolf and now Serena is a succubus and a werewolf herself.

The story is told in snapshots, the chapters forming a collection of moments from the beginning of the main characters encounter through events which turn eventually into a climax which was completely unexpected. It’s really not focused on the erotic aspects than it is with following Serena as she comes to terms with her new reality and tries to figure out how to live with Lucas as well.

It’s complicated and continues to be more so as the story passes through the development of their relationship, those they encounter, and settles on Serena finding out her true power and then making a choice for herself and her future.

It’s heartbreaking at times, the self-loathing which Serena lives through is shaded by her outward character. But it’s the reflective moments within herself that I thought worked really well.

Serena is not a stereotypical succubus by any means, both before and after she becomes a SuccuWolf, which is how she’s referred to at one point by Lucas and honestly that did make me smile. er succubus powers have something of a Lost Girl feel to them at points, which was interesting to see.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

The work closes in a way that really feels like a sequel needs to appear at some point. The rather surprising choice made by Serena feels right and gives a wonderful close to the story. But there’s a sense of something more to follow and perhaps it might someday.
