Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 17, 2026
In this collection, the story On the Other End of a Succubus, an encounter with a succubus is described, but it’s a very unique one by far. It’s not a story of mindless sex, or evil, or a work of domination either. It is the telling of the edges of a seduction, a tease, the entrapment of a soul’s memory before the succubus takes a turn in the choices made that I thought made the entire story that much more hot in the erotica.
There are little hints of mind control, manipulation, the teasing appearance of the power of a succubus to wrap her tail about a soul and draw them to her. It’s honestly one of the best told seductions I have read in some time and it appealed to me so very much in how it did so.
The succubus of the story, who is never named, and that’s a real shame honestly, is so very much a succubus on the prowl. The dialogue, the descriptions of her pose, expressions, and overall presence tells so much about her. She doesn’t feel evil, which I honestly appreciated, but she has a focus, a will, and she revels in that.
Four out of five pitchforks.
The story is just amazing without the succubus going that last little step beyond. It’s the anticipation most of all that I loved and delighted in. I would love, so dearly, for the author to take this story and turn it into a long form novel, I honestly want to know everything about her. If I am honest, she reminds me of… well… the red-tailed me.
For the anthology as a whole, three and a half out of five pitchforks.
More than anything, it is the atmosphere of the stories and how the words create the tapestry of heat and passion that I enjoyed the most. Very much recommended for all the delights this work holds.
