Plot Summary
A fallen angel is free again.
The last time ex-priest Roger Greene saw Greg Novara, he watched the Vatican emissary walk calmly away after murdering his best friend's newborn son in order to stop a biblical prophecy from coming true.
Now, six years later, a series of disasters kills tens of thousands around the world and convinces Vatican officials the evil destroyed by Novara and Greene in New York was not alone. Desperate to bring an end to the deaths, they manipulate Greene into joining the hunter again to save mankind.
Greene and Novara race across Europe and the Middle East, piecing together clues from ancient manuscripts and legends, all while following the trail of blood and destruction and trying to stay ahead of the FBI agents who can stop them from succeeding—the father of the baby Novara murdered and his new partner who appears to know a lot more about Novara than she is willing to say.
As the pair track down the fallen angel-turned-demon in the mountains of Israel and prepare to battle, Greene finally realizes what Novara has known all along, that fighting evil requires sacrifices he thought he would never consider.
