Jessica and Carl encounter Candace and become entwined with her powers. But there still remains a threat to them all and it’s coming closer with every moment.

Continuing from the prior work, the main characters quickly fall into yet another sexual encounter. This ties up the majority of the work and doesn’t have a lot of heat in it. It’s far too rote, Jessica shows nothing of her being a succubus either.

Again there is no further development of Jessica as a succubus, her nature isn’t explored, her powers don’t appear. The work continues to focus on the harem theme. My issue goes back to the hints about Jessica’s succubus nature which remain unexplored. It’s the note of her being the last succubus which keeps me reading the series and if that isn’t explored it’s the larger shame.

Outside of the main characters having sex, which wasn’t able to hold my interest, the events outside of them offer some world building that I did like, but it’s really not enough to make the work more than it turned out to be.

One out of five pitchforks.

There’s no succubus aspects to be found here, it’s fully a harem story with a succubus character. Perhaps the series will turn back towards that theme, but as things are now, the series is less and less what I wanted to read and more of what seems boring.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 15, 2024
