Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 18, 2024

Ethan still doesn’t know why so many women want him, but who is he to refuse? But it’s all fun and games until trouble starts and when it comes to Ethan, that might be coming in all directions for him.

Continuing on from the preceding work, this part of the series continues to mainly be about the next person who becomes entwined with Ethan and the sex that follows. The series seems to be turning away from really exploring him being an incubus and really focused on the harem he’s creating.

As such the erotica feels receptive, the characters aren’t really that interesting overall. What’s more bothersome is that Ethan, as a character, has completely turned aware from who he was to something of being single kindly focused on sex and not a lot else. At this point Ethan is really very much unlikable, his personality just isn’t at all appealing. If it wasn’t for his powers as an incubus, there wouldn’t be anything interesting about him.

But that’s the problem here. The series has set aside his nature, save for the ability to draw women into having sex with him. There’s no exploration of what being an incubus means, or is there any meaning behind that save for getting to the next entanglement. I honestly wanted to see something far more interesting than what’s unfolding in the series, but it seems like that’s becoming less and less a possibility.

One pitchfork out of five.

While there is still no real development with Ethan’s incubus nature, there seems to be a few plot arcs starting to form around him. The one that keeps me wondering about remains his mother and if she’ll make an appearance. If nothing else at least then we might see more about the mythos which would interest me.
