Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on February 18, 2024
There are some temptations that just can’t be resisted and Carl is finding out that Jessica intends for him to try all of them. Sometimes a look is more than a look and when Jessica sees what Carl cannot look away from, she’s going to make something happen he can’t resist.
Proceeding on from the prior work, the work follows two storylines, one of which is Jessica and Carl being intimate with a nun. The other is more to build the stories of some of the minor characters and push the series onwards somewhat. While the erotica reads very much like an adult movie in tone and language, it’s the stories about the minor characters that interested me more.
As for Jessica, the succubus of the series, she’s more of a means to an end than anything else here. She’s less of a succubus than a means to fulfill Carl’s wishes. That continues to be a shame as there’s so much about her that hasn’t been told and doing so would make her a lot more interesting.
If there’s anything really positive here, it is the stories in the background moving, the threat in the shadows for Jessica and Carl getting closer. The tension is building and that, as a whole, is a lot more captivating than the tepid erotica was. I expect something more than over the top sex scenes to hold my interest.
Two out of five pitchforks.
The story still has a bit of a succubus theme on the edges, but otherwise it’s not where the erotica comes from. That said, the most promising thing was seeing more of the story universe unfold. I have hopes that it will do so further, to explore succubi in this universe and especially the troubling note about Jessica that’s hanging on the story and bothering me.
