Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 1, 2024

Carl’s harem must begin somewhere and Mary is the one Jessica has brought to him. Where the passion of the trio goes next delughts them all, but there are forces closing on Jessica who have other plans.

Carrying on from the prior work, this part of the story is entirely focused on the threesome having their way with each other. It doesn’t move the story forward, it doesn’t use Jessica as a succubus so much as a sex toy for Carl and Mary. It reads as one very long erotic scene which didn’t have a lot of heat.

There is no development of Jessica as a succubus, her nature isn’t explored, her powers don’t appear. The work continues to focus on a harem theme and nothing else seems to matter otherwise. That’s a shame because there is so much to explore in Jessica’s succubus nature which was hinted at in the beginning of the series, but has never been returned to again.

The work reads, in a way, that the main characters are going around in circles while the edges of other characters and plots jump into the story for a paragraph or two and then disappear again. It really doesn’t develop the plot as a whole, which is a shame. Erotica doesn’t read well if it is all about the sex and the reader doesn’t connect with the characters.

One out of five pitchforks.

There’s really nothing to note of a succubus theme here. Beyond that the erotica is tepid, the scenes are very much adult movie in tone and description. While the overall plot moves through the minor characters, this didn’t appeal to me. It would be, honestly, a really good idea to return to the succubus theme and set the ongoing harem plot aside. If nothing else, it would make for a far more interesting series again.
